Kayaking at Lyme Regis Fish Lyme on Sunday for three hours. Beautiful conditions for paddling. Shoal of fish moving round the bay so I stuck on a small silver lure and case right in the middle of them but had no takers. Not sure what fish they were. Did catch two small Pollock. Nice session but still no sign of any Bass. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Re: Kayaking at Lyme Regis Normally I would have said it was mackerel that you had seen. However if you had cast in the middle of them with that lure I would have expected a Mackerel to have taken it. At this time of year you get shoals of herring. I am targeting them for the next month. You need to use Sandeel lures and fish very light to catch them. Are you local. Myself and Chesil Chucker fancy some Kayak fishing (he has 2 Kayaks) __________________ Check my blog for a daily fishing forecast from Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach & Kimmeridge Bay. www.fishingtails.co.uk

Re: Kayaking at Lyme Regis HI Portland Pirate, Yes you are spot on saying they were Herring. Spoke to a chap yesterday who managed to catch some on tiny sand eel feathers. I may go to Lyme again on Thursday evening. Only problem is that they have forecast 2' waves so the shoal will be hard to locate. Sam.
