Dover, Prince of Wales Pier 18th April 11

I fished the P.O.W again today with my boy Matthew, My mum tagged along with Kade my step-Brothers boy who is 10.
We arrived at 10:00 High water was at 1157. There was an easterly wind right in our faces, not too strong but enough to be a pain and there was a strong tide as we were right at the end, We lost a few traces due to snags. The boys just seemed to fight and made the whole experience unbearable so at 12:30 my Mum packed up. Nothing was caught in that time except for a couple of pin whiting.
I fished two rods out with 1/o flappers with lug and squid and used 2 rods down the wall with tiny fresh water hooks with rag worm and squid. I was trying to catch some mini spiecies but didn’t get even a nibble.
I caught about 50 pin whiting, couldn’t catch anything else. I had just about given up then caught a large dogfish.
A couple of kids on bmx’s said a few school bass had been caught using rag worm cast out as far as possible. I tried that for a bit but decided it wasn’t happening and packed up myself at about 15:00.
When I was walking home on the sea front a bloke stopped me to ask what I had caught, he said they had been catching a few mackerel on the Admiralty pier.
That’s my last session this time home. I can’t go fishing for 2 weeks now as I have to work.
