| Cogden - 10th Apr Well, it was going to be too nice a day not to be by the sea so decided late on Saturday night to try chesil. Left home at 4.30am armed with squid, whitebait, black lug, bacon (?) and a box of lures feathers and wedges. Had some bait in at distance by 7am and kicked back with a coffee (or a can of warm Fosters in my mates case Meanwhile setup up a couple of rods with feathers to try for some early mackerel - following advise to go at distance and let sink for a few secs before retrieve. Also tried various wedges and lures with a small spinning rod - covering the length of the beach from Cogden to West Bay. Something I particularly like doing for some reason but something my mate cant quite get his head around. In short, nothing bar a few pulls from what I presume were crabs near low water. Oh well, was just great to be there on such a cracking day. Tight Lines! __________________ 2012: None Lifetime: Codling, Grey Gurnard, Mackerel, Pollock, Pouting, Wrasse, Scad. |
