| Pompey harbour today Took the nipper out fishing for a couple of hours today. Needed somewhere easy to fish so i went to a spot at the top end of Pompey harbour where the flood tide fills up small channels on the mud. Didn't expect to catch anything but second cast into maybe 2ft of incoming water and the lads spinning rod wrapped round. Ended up being a decent Bass of between 2-3lb, taken on rag and lug. I set myself a carp rod up and cast a peeler into one of the gulleys, a few minutes later and it to wrapped round, i had what felt like a very good fish on for maybe 2-3 seconds then it was gone.  We missed another bight and then called it a day. Upon gutting the fish for tonights BBQ it had 8 hard back crabs in it the greedy sod. It's been a long time since i went fishing but the lads nagging today has well and truly got me hooked again.   __________________ One day i will post a catch report again.     |
