| pagham7/4/11 was planning on fishing twice this week . but with the wind blowing hard down here monday night , did not bother going . so now was down to last night . got to pagham just after 10pm . high tide was around 2.20am . it was warm , with little to no wind . the sea was flat calm , yet was a nasty swell breaking on the beach . there was abit of cloud cover growing all the time . plan was to fish a loop rig at long range as always , ut also a 3 hook flapper , mid range . baits were lug , squid and peelers . from the off , the flapper was producing rockling and small bass . but nothing on the loop rig !!!!! this carried on till around 1 am when i had a single tap and a slack line on the loop rig . as soon as i picked it up could feel some thing good on . thought at 1st it wwas a bass , but then out of the swell popped this ..........  nice black bream of 2lb8ozs , then the very next cast , same thing , a single tap , then slack line on the loop rig again . same thing as before , out popped another bream .............  this time it went 2lb14ozs . that was the only 2 bites on the distance rod . the flapper carried on catching rockling and small bass . plus a doogie . packed up around 5am . ended up with 11 rockling , 5 bass , 1 dogfish and 2 black bream . the best bit though was i never had a single strand of weed from start to finish . __________________ 2010 south coast danglers cod meet champ     |
