| Had a day session at Normans Bay today & had a little frozen lug left some sandeels & some descent fresh wrapped lug from anglers den in Pevensey, Tackle shop owner was very honest & stated that not a lot was around but a few plaice to around 1lb had turned up, set up 2 rods with wishbone on 1 & 2 hook paternoster on other with short snoods and smaller than usual hooks (size 4's) but this seemed to do the trick as within about 40 minutes I had my first fish of the year (in 4 trips!!) a fat jelly like rockling but was happy to catch anything, then it seemed to get busy and in came whiting after whiting on lug & sandeel strips (even a few double shots) ended up with about a dozen small fish and returned them all. Overall a great day with lovely sunshine but due to the sea breeze didn't notice how powerful the sun can be even in early April & now looking like an over-ripe tomato ![]() |
