Re: Any mackies showing yet? I'm sure I heard somebody mention in passing on another thread that a few had been caught recently. With the weather looking good this weekend i'm toying with the idea of popping down and trying for a few early bait fish. __________________ 2012: None Lifetime: Codling, Grey Gurnard, Mackerel, Pollock, Pouting, Wrasse, Scad.

Re: Any mackies showing yet? Was tempted to do the same on Sat but cant make up mind whether to do the hour and half drive to chesil or just go and fish the channel.

Re: Any mackies showing yet? Monty, Thinking the same. It's a 2 hours drive for me but my Bristol Channel mark is only 30 mins away. The weather looks very good though. ![]() __________________ 2012: None Lifetime: Codling, Grey Gurnard, Mackerel, Pollock, Pouting, Wrasse, Scad.

Re: Any mackies showing yet? There are a few Mackerel showing on the beach, but as usual they are out at distance and down deep, so if you do have a go make sure you let your weight sink for about 3 seconds. In my opinion, it is not worth making a 1 1/2hr trip to maybe catch a few Mackerel on Chesil. __________________ Check my blog for a daily fishing forecast from Weymouth, Portland, Chesil Beach & Kimmeridge Bay. www.fishingtails.co.uk
