Any mackies showing yet?

Just wondered if there are any signs of early mackerel shools yet on the South coast or elsewhere?

heard of a few from chesil, but that was from people who had been trying for 4 hours
they are still down deep, cant be long though

I'm sure I heard somebody mention in passing on another thread that a few had been caught recently. With the weather looking good this weekend i'm toying with the idea of popping down and trying for a few early bait fish.

Was tempted to do the same on Sat but cant make up mind whether to do the hour and half drive to chesil or just go and fish the channel.

Thinking the same. It's a 2 hours drive for me but my Bristol Channel mark is only 30 mins away. The weather looks very good though.

There are a few Mackerel showing on the beach, but as usual they are out at distance and down deep, so if you do have a go make sure you let your weight sink for about 3 seconds.

In my opinion, it is not worth making a 1 1/2hr trip to maybe catch a few Mackerel on Chesil.

Well, it would'nt be the first time (and that's trying to catch anything)

I would walk for 6 hours just to fish chesil and catch nothing !
