went to the dogs at charmouth last night

well a suprise late ( or actually early)pass yesterday saw team speckled + 2 bottles off down to our fave beach

went off to the landslip and met 2 guys who advised the pout had come on the feed, but better still had seen schoolie action in close chaseing smaller stuff

anyway we yomped on a bit too where we knew we would be safe over the high water and not up against the clifs or mud banks as knew would fish up and over high

and yes the guys were right, worm baits were getting hammered by the pout within seconds of hitting the water and soon the sandeels were attraction the dogs, ok first of year for me , soon the tally rose though

so it was eventually we both upped rigs to 3/0 and big sandeels to try and fish through the dogs, result = more dogs

i really lost count how many we had but loads

eventually the water dropped enough to return past the slip and off home via Honiton kebab

ok no target species but plenty to keep us busy, so a good eve in good company, really lovely eve
and for the first time this year just in jeans and jumper

always was a tad opptomistic for a ray really
they will come soon enough

never fished charmouth beach s it normally productive,what bis the best species to target there apart from pout and snoop doggs.

in the summer is a good beach for ray and bass, started trying a bit too early really
