19 march,west bexington

well i got to the beach by about 2pm and fished the tide up till dark,
it was a bit busy down there , after finding a parking space easily enough & abandoning the wife and children at the carpark set off west to find a space at the end of the line of anglers.
20 mins later i was settleing in a space which looked to be about 200 yds from the last cogden angler who headed east, unless there's a foot path coming straight down from swyre.
with a slight change of tictacs from last time out as in all out for distance from the off the sport mag and the aerlex got strapped to the awb's and the plaice hunting rigs were sent out with squid/lug/rag cocktails.
the casting has gotten rusty over the usual winter break from fishing but things were improveing steadily.
the gap between me and the crew at 'cogden' was soon filled by more arriveing anglers makeing what looked like a solid wall of fishermen from cogden to bexington and possibly on to abbotsbury.

but true to form the fishing was slow and the planned rebait every 20mins and adjust leads to match the strengthening tide occasionally gave way to sod it all & get some shut eye in the sun from time to time.
but the tempriture dropped steadily as the sun dipped and the biteless frustration increased.
as darkness fell the guy to my right caught a palm sized flattie just as he started to pack up the tide had picked up big time and i swopped for grippers as the 5oz were being swept arround quickly in the tide.
in a repeat of last time i caught a blank saveing yting before heading back to the car for some scran & to warm up .
i was gonna set up again nearer the car and fish on into the night but asthma kicked in on the walk back so i decided a slow drive back to wiltshire for meds was probably a good plan.

bristol channel monday night is the next plan of attack, with hartley

Nice report GJ those pics show how popular angling is!

Tides on Monday are massive - good luck, hope you bag a biggun.

Re: 19 march,west bexington

I was desperate to get out this weekend, but as it was my daughters birthday and the outlaws were down, I had no pass. Working until Wednesday this week, I can't wait to get down to West Bexington again. I think it should be better during the week as it will be quieter. I am sure all those fishermen banging baits and leads into the water puts fish off.
