| Dovers Easter arm 17th March 11 Dovorian and Fisypauls trip to the arm! We arrived on the arm at about 3pm. Hw 2130. Paul was targeting the thorn back ray with two rods. Both rods rigged with pulley pennels, (a new rig for the old fella!) baited with fish baits, herring mostly I think. I fished two rods, one with a 2 hook flapper baited with lug and squid and the other with a pulley pennel baited with mackeral and sandeels. First cast produced loud shouting from a distraught Boy luke (local fishing boat) who was hauling his lobster pots just below where we were fishing! we reeled in and let him finish hauling while we carried on setting up. Once Boy luke was clear we were able to continue fishing. I caught a starfish and a pin whiting. Then a codlett!!?, (too small) and a pin whiting. Then a Pouting and more pin whiting and some more pin whiting then just for a change a dogfish. All caught on the 2 hook flapper. I had a couple of bites on the pennel but dont think I caught anything on that rod. Paul caught a reasonable sized Dogfish, much to his joy. He had a good bite at some point but what ever it was dropped off at the foot of the wall before we could get a look at it. Could have been the Thornie! I was thinking of fishing the Addy on the weekend but the tides are 6.8 , 6.9 so think i may have issues holding bottom!! __________________ Sea 2012- 5brd rockling, whiting, LS Dogfish,Bass,Eel,Flounder F/W 2012- Catfish(16.5lb), Carp,Tench LITTER IS JUST LAZINESS!! |
