| abbots 12/3/11 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- after dithering about watching an ebay sale, i gathered my fishing gear + my shiney new beach buddy and set off via west bay where i bought some fresh worm which, contrary to previous experience with that shop , was really in good condition. the whole exersize was really to see if the r/t shelter is any better/worse that the holden one when it was in the same condition, ie, as new . plus to see if my shimmy tsm is now any slower since tuneing, cogden looked busy on the way by, bexy carpark looked empty, but i was going to abbots coz the carprk is cheaper & to fish a specific section that iv'e not thought of fishing for 30 odd years. there were a few fishing at the carpark as i wandered off to my spot, the day was overcast with light but cold sse ? winds, well, straight from portland anyway. the day stayed dry with just a drop or 2 at the finnish as the fog came down. i was that enthusiastic i didn't even bother checking the tide times, it was a near neap & still riseing when i left so i guess i fished the last of the ebb and back up again from 14.30 - 19.00. it had been rough recently but sea state was faily clear with about a 0.5m swell rolling onto the shingle.  like all daylight fishing it was damned slow, with no sign of a bite at all, the r/t bivvy aint much different to the holden one & the shimano behaves itself well although into a headwind will have to be tried b4 i tinker with it further. a double shot of pin whiteing saved the blank just as darkness fell at which point the fresh bait had run out so i had 1 more cast and wandered back to wiltshire.  __________________ beer so many venues, so little time.     |

 Re: abbots 12/3/11 Well done, At leat you did'nt blank mate. Thought you'd be at West Bexie or Cogdon after the plaice though... Glad to hear you're pleased with your new shelter.
