 Hillhead wall 08th March 2011 Only a brief report cos not alot happened but will give you an idea what to expect. Met up with Billy at just after tea time and made myself at home in his new camper / fishing wagon while we waited for ther tide to turn .. Eventually got 2 rods out with sandeel/mackerel wrap aimed at an early ray and mackerel/squid on size 2's for anything else lurking .. Well, for the third time i managed to catch exactly the same species as previous  Whiting on the size 2's plus a pout over high water .. Weed was at a minimum and wasn't a problem but hooks were coming back clean when using mackerel so either the crabs have moved in or the pin whiting are still about in numbers  .Wind picked up about 2 am and blew both tripods overs - buggering the top on Bills and breaking a coaster on my rod  , so we packed up and called it a night ..Lee , i saw your text at gone 2 am and thought it best not to reply lol There were 3 guys fishing the spit for the whole of the flood tide but have no idea if they were into fish or just plain barmy  __________________ Shore Species 2012: Dab-Flounder-Herring-L.S.Dogfish-Pouting-Shore Rockling-5 Bearded Rockling-Small Eyed Ray-Turbot-Whiting     |
