Thornback and Cod on Admiralty Pier, Dover 26/02 had our 2nd club comp of 2011, saturday 26th, was due out on the breakwater, but the usual useless shipping forecast put paid to that, as usual it was wrong, so decided to fish it on the Admiralty pier insted.14.00-20.00 3 club records broken, firstly by a 7lb 8oz thornback coming from the first half of the pier, taken on a 1/0 hook baited with lug, cracking fish, second record a weird one, all the time the clubs been running no one had ever caught a cod to produce a record, that went last night with a nice 3lb 8oz codling taken on half a black tipped with squid on a 1/0 aberdeen hook, taken by ME on the extension, so well happy, another personnel record was had with that fish, as on the top hook was a codlette, 2 in 1 cast, great stuff, another codling of 2lb 9oz was had by another member, with lots of codlettes caught and released, the third club record was a whopping dogfish of 2lb bang on the nose, also among the catches were the usual, whiting, pout, and rockling, i also had a few cracking bites, but managed to let the fish drag me into snags and the result, yup end gear lost, but a great night none the less with only 1 person failing to weigh in anything __________________ https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/122835604396392/ Proud supporters of the RNLI Dover Lifeboat http://www.dover-lifeboat.org.uk/index.php

Re: Thornback and Cod on Admiralty Pier, Dover 26/02 hello mate, if you are on the ferry leaving dover the admiralty pier is the one on your right, the western end of the harbour, if you are travelling to dover by the A2 or M20 you aim for the cruise terminal, the parking and entrance for the admiralty are right next to it next time you are coming down give us a shout on here and we will give you detailed directions and a few hints on how to fish it,

Re: Thornback and Cod on Admiralty Pier, Dover 26/02 Took us all by surprise, was not expecting codling and the thornie, was expecting a scratching match, with the normal tiddlers, personally i only ever fish the Addy about once a year, also held out on a 6oz breakaway during the whole tide run When i hooked the coddie, i thought i was bringing a load of old lead n line in, until my doubles partner told me to stop realing coz there was a bigger fish on the bottom hook, n stood praying as he handballed it up the wall lol __________________ https://www.facebook.com/#!/groups/122835604396392/ Proud supporters of the RNLI Dover Lifeboat http://www.dover-lifeboat.org.uk/index.php
