Who's a Tackle Tart

Went to get my bait yesterday for Folkstone today and they had just taken delivery of a pair of 13ft Diawa beachcasters , they didn't even make it into the rack. Tried them out today with the 2 Penn 515s I got of Phil last month.

Started fishing at the bottom of the tide and was straight into loads of pin Whiting so I christened both rods on the first cast.

I then changed bait once the frozen Blacks had thawed and this tipped with Squid started the Dabs feeding , this was the biggest one but it only went 6oz so dont think it's big enough for the monthly comp but at least I have finally caught one of the target species in the right week.

When the tide picked up I started losing rigs to a snag so dropped 1 rod on close and the other straight down the wall , the close rod gave me species No3 for the day.

and the one down the wall gave me No4

I packed up before the top of the tide because I was losing rigs left right and centre but I have a bit of bait over so will try the river later this week

I have different colour lines so that when the other idiot on the pier snags me I can see my line so that I only cut theirs

Re: Who's a Tackle Tart

Nice report mate, was that Folkstone pier?? You gotta watch it round the flattie bend, can be really snaggy in patches. I find the spot that has "PIER MARSHALLS PEG" is fairly clear but to the right my mate lost loads of tackle. Nice rods also, Phil sorted me out some rods a while back and they were great but i havn`t seen him in the shop for a while now for some reason which is a shame cos he`s a really nice fella and i could get bait even at the scarsest of times.
