Sunday 20-2-2011 Wrecking

Ray and I had a really silly o'clock start 0330 big spring tides were the cause,
Oberon would be aground at 0500 our normal start time, nothing to beat a dinghy ride in the middle of the night,
Forecast was a kindly F3 from northeast and dropping, crew boarded at 0600 and two hours later we started our first drift, five drifts later, zero nothing not even a take, move time, this was repeated another five times and we hadn't had a fish, each move took us further away from home and we were fishing in the shipping lanes, then it happened two rods went over and it was game on, hopes soared but it was short lived yet another move, to cut this short it was not a good day 12 pollock and three pout, but that's fishing.
Next time maybe???

So when are you coming to join us Steve? could do with help at times,some of the crew caught PBs and others blanked as did I on the drifts I fished but as you say it will get better.

Im kinda waiting for the Cod to show up for a bit of pirking but think i cant wait that long
All depends when i can get the car as i'd hate for my daughter to walk to school lol - hopefully in the very near future tho
