The plan, after reading recent catch reports on an other forum we decided to head east and try and find some cod, forecast wasn't great Easterly 16mph.
As expected it was a tad lumpy, well very lumpy, in fact floating off the seat lumpy, we consoled ourselves with Wednesday's forecast dropping to 10 mph by midday, yeah right!
The crew are all seasoned anglers so mal de mer wasn't a problem thank god, we started off at 17 knots straight into it after an hours pounding we had to slow down as it was getting worse, what should have been a two hour trip turned into three and a quarter hours, arriving at the first wreck around 0930 Ray slowly nosed the boat over and around it, fish traces on the sounder, game on, everybody ready? yes came the reply, Ray set up the drift and shads and sidewinders dropped to the bottom.



First fish to Rich, next drift produced small pollock third nothing, fourth....

This wasn't going to turn into a "carnage day" to upset the tree huggers, drifts were producing one or two fish at most some small others doubles.

In total thirty plus pollock, one small codling around 4lb and a bass plus some of the biggest pout I've ever seen some must have gone 2.5lbs really wanted a pic but they were unhooked and gone
before I could grab the camera.

Tight Lines, roll on Sunday, the forecast looks fantastic.
Sorry should have added the wind dropped around 1500 on our way home and it could have been summer

Great report mate, looks like you had a fun day. I will have to take up boat fishing by the looks of it, I`d be so chuffed with any of them fish (even the 2.5lb pout). Every trip i arrange i`ve had serious letdowns by so called dead certs and the boats have never set sail
