pleasant morning

i spent a nice morning on my local pier today,
got down there by 0600 and had bites from the word go,had a succession of dabs,whiting and a small 5 inch codling,
the exciting bit was when i had a big slack liner on my second rod which was out with a whole squid on a 4/0 pennel,it felt heavy and my thoughts went to codling but it turned out to be a big doggie,all 2lb 6oz of it,a forum record i believe,
picture sent to dave,my digital camera has packed up again ,
jason ( dovorian ) turned up to fish the tide just before i left and he broke his codling duck witha little half pounder,
hopefully he will get better ones later,
