ferrybridge - chesil

Hi guys!
Finally decided that me n few others are going to fish venue called ferrybridge on saturday, and it involves crossing some stepping stones (before the tide is in) and about a mile hike! Anyone fished here before? Sorry about the vague directions aswell.. I hope it is easier to find when I'm actually there! Will post how we get on!

Cheers sam

Re: ferrybridge - chesil

Mike - it's chesil beach, Portland end

Sam - good luck - travel as light as you can.
The pebbles/shingle are strength sapping. This time of year your warm clothing will make you sweat like a pig.
Take your time & good luck, though "Portland Pirate" will probably tell you there is not much about. It's his stretch of the country (out of his window) & he would know.

P.

ps welcome to forum :+)

those 'stepping stones' are for about 10 yards lol and can be crossed in just trainers .. as for the walk you will be heading right , towards the bird sanctuary if your walking a mile m8.. good luck with those poor cod lol

Scottish_and_mental,
Yeah I was told is close to a bird sanctuary! I don't mind catching anything 2moz really as haven't fished for over a week now and I'm craving a fish! Also any doggies that turn up would please the misses when I get back cos she loves em! Will let you know how it goes and what's about tho as four of us are going and will all be trying different rigs and baits!

Cheers sam

Re: ferrybridge - chesil

There are only about 4 or 5 stepping stones at ferrybridge, they're no trouble as S_A_M says. When you get over them stay close to the fleet as you walk along the first bit, the patches of grass are an easier walk than the shingle. If you are doing a mile walk it sounds like you'll be fishing the Bridging camp.

Just remember plenty of change to feed the hungry meter!

Well I'm on the beach and fishing rite now! There is four of us fishing and since about 3 o'clock we have had only 2 doggies a dozen whiting and a poor cod! Not the best fishing in the world but nice fire on the go with a few sausages being cooked isn't too bad!

Cheers guys sam
