Sea fishing N Kent coast

After some advice, i am from the west country and fairly new to Kent living in Gillingham i am after a couple of good spots along the N kent coast. I dont mind travelling but with so much nice coastline it seems a shame to travel too far.

Re: Sea fishing N Kent coast

there are some good spots along the north kent coast mate , a lot of it however is part of either the thames or the medway estuary, there is a hell of a lot of shallow water where flounders and schoolies are generally the quarry,
having said that there can be good fishing at the medway industrial estate at strood , on the thames at gravesend or herne bay beach,
but to be honest you will have a lot more success all year round fishing the deeper water venues at deal, dover, folkestone, hythe and dungeness,

Guys thanks very much indeed. I will have to have a bit of a drive around to look. Is there any deep water around sheerness? Where are the spots in Deal?

Deeper water can be found at a spot called garrisons point in sheerness which is near the docks, from here you can also head toward Minster Leas. There are a few reasonable spots in-between such as near the sailing club but generally most marks around the Island are shallow, be carefull on some of these as they are pretty muddy from all the cliff erosion and the tide goes out a long way. if you can get out over low water I have heard of a few reasonable catches of Rays from near Warden point & Eastchurch Gap. I generally try Minster Leas, Warden Bay & Laysdown Green Car Park area (Carry on through Leysdown to the sea wall). To be totally honest I have not caught much from anywhere on the Island a few eels & Flatties from the Leas, a couple of Flatties & Micro Bass from Leysdown & a couple of Flatties from Warden Bay, generally to lug or rag baits on about size 2 wishbone or two hook flappers. I have heard of reasonable catches of bass & flatties around the Kingsferry Bridge (Just as you come onto the Island) & often see people trying there as I drive over the bridge. Still waiting for one of the elusive Rays myself despite trying Sandeel, Mackie & Bluey Still will try again this season once I open up my Caravan on the Island.
Tight Lines & may meet up for a bash in a month or two
