Best setup for Marlin, Sailfish & Wahoo

I'm planning a trip from San Diego to Cabo by private boat and am new to trolling for big game fish.

Is there a lure set up that pretty much equalizes you're chances of strikes by either a blue marlin, sailfish or Wahoo?

Also, does anyone know of references, published accounts of someone fishing for Marlin from a small boat (21ft in my case).
