Bexington Sat. The highs and lows of fishing

Hi All,

Fished West Bexington on Saturday 3pm until 7pm. Bit worried when I found out I was the only person on the beach. The sea did look a bit lumpy and it was spitting with rain. However I had my new early Christmas present. A brolly shelter. Very pleased with it. Why I chose it was because big enough for two people can sit together. Also very quick to set up. Downside is the weight.

As for the fishing. Spotting a little whiting bite in-between Huge bending in the rod from the waves, is very tricky. I must admit I did strike and real in a few times only to find the bait untouched. got the gist of it in the end and managed to catch seven small whiting on rag and mackerel. Could not get any Lug.

Anyway. The small whiting really started coming on the feed so I decided to call it a night. Feeling happy with my brolly I packed up and walked back to the car, only to find a parking ticket on my car. My ticket had ran out a few minutes before six. Bit annoyed really. Very expensive fishing trip but I'm still glad I made the effort. http://www.fishing-forum.info/images/smilies/.gif

Shame about the ticket, suprised to hear that there was someone on duty at that time of night at this time of year! Isnt there a limit to the number of hours you can park in that car park now at any one time or am I talking out of my backside?

Nice one on the Whiting but bad luck on the ticket. Sounds very unlucky you have come across a jobsworth. A mate I go with to Bexington in the summer has actually spoken to one of the car parks bods who hinted heavily that if you at least make the effort to at least put a ticket on then they will turn a blind eye.

If I can I try and park on that grass verge opposite the cafe/shop immediatly before the car park.

Unfortunately they have just earthed up the lay-by to force people to pay for parking.

Re: Bexington Sat. The highs and lows of fishing

Well done on the Whiting. Is that a council car park or a private one? If it's private, just ignore the ticket. They usually send you a few threatening letters then give up as it's too much hassle to take you to court...
