| Welshicons weymouth trip The weather was against us on saturday, so the Duchess skipper ditched the wrecking trip and would take us fishing inshore instead and the normal 8 hrs. And there was plenty of room as only eight decided to go out in the conditions, which turned out better than we expected. Ben Burville our seasoned carp fisherman was the first fisherman on our trips since July to add his own Groundbait, and spent 2hrs hugging the side , but still managed to double my catch. Overall there was not much action- we fished for Mackarel but managed just the one. After that we caught alot of undersized pouting- usual doggies and some small pollock towards the end. Three of us did managed a new species - Limpit snails, if thats what thier called. mine the biggest with at least 7 all fused together. and Hernrik da silva caught his first Red Gurnad. Amd there were the usual laughs on my experimental baits- A cocktail mix of tail on prawns- squid- baby octupus and mussells some in a red paparika dye which bagged me Three pouting my limpet snail and some how managed to lasso a doggie which was being pulled in by our none english speaking Polish man who kept offering me his 45% home made vodka to warm me up- It certainly warmed me to the extent that a trip onshore to kfc was needed to save my stomach lining!!! At least noone blanked this trip but i 70/30 in ditching my new bait for the next trip unless of course in the english channel thier not fussy.!!!! |
