 Eastoke , Hayling 19th Oct Planned a trip down to Hayling sea front to see if there were any codling about and set up at groyne 28 - just in time as no sooner had i erected the beach buddy is peee'd it down and blew a hoolie for 20 minutes  two guys to my right had set up in the shelter of the next groyne and two guys to thier right had also set up .. these two happened to be my nemesis essentailmix75 and his pal WEARELEEDS from this very forum  ..after a brief chat about the lack of fish ( i'd managed 2 decent whiting in 2 casts - one on lug, the other on a bluey/squid cocktail ) i went back to base and was met by Danny1981 ( another forum member who i'd spoke to earlier about meeting up ) .. as high water approached , the moon decided it would glow as much as it could - the rain and cloud from earlier had totally vanished  ..sea was smooth to slight and the wind got colder as the night progressed. Weed was virtualy non existent - a bit like the intended quarry  Managed 4 whiting for dinner plus a doggie that gave me a massive slack line bite on lug  ( i had my house on it being a cod ) and danny managed a nice whiting and his first shore dog ( both of which had curious jet black dots on them , almost like ink , something ive never seen before  )the two guys in the next groyne packed up before midnight without a fish and a while later the two other forum lads had packed up fishless too ...
