Red face Not so solo meo

well yesterday was stupidy personified
as cant get out with rich most weds, my free eve is tuesdays, and anyway rich was away in surrey on a job so its a solo effort again

had a glorious big pass for pikeing, had everything in car looked like a good day,, then whallop Mrs p car fails MOT and so pikeings out question as end up being dads taxi till 5,30, but on a plus mrs p still said go out as soon as want after

so with little more persuation and a quick detour via tackle shop i was again heading east to Lyme for a sole/bass/anything
just as heading down hill into lyme my phone goes off and its the Baggie one

" did you fancy fishing tonight?" were his first words
"as work got cancelled "
eerr well i'm in lyme mate was the reply
and its raining, shall i head back or what

no decision made that we may as well try for a sole again as both armed with shed loads of lug

thus it was that i fished from 6.30-8 on the end of the inner wall( even whilst it peed down for 5 mins, and proper wet rain it was too) for a succession of small pout on 1 rod, and didly on a livebait on other

then just after 8 moved to monmouth beach with rich
as the skies cleared and it was lovely

but again more pout and a small schoolie to me, and plenty of pout to rich as well

the last hour of the drop was devoid of any bites but as soon as turned the pout were back

Still no sole but busy , even if only small stuff

could really do with a stir up in the water at the moment been flat for a week or 2 now

stupid really 2 cars did the 40mile round trip and 2 lots of carparking but hey better than flying solo

dave

Re: Not so solo meo

Unbelieveable ain't it? The very week after thinking that midweek fishing is over for good, Team Speckled Hen rises from the ashes!!

The one day every week that I can't fish is Tuesdays as the missus goes out swimming. The only night that Dave can fish is now Tuesdays. Of course, this week my missus cancelled swimming as I was supposed to be in Reigate with work, so when my job got called off on Tuesday morning and I get home that night and she suggests I go fishing, what cha gonna do??

I think from now I'll just have to plan loads of work away which mysteriously gets cancelled at the last minuet! Sorted!

The fishing itself was pants. Pout after pout after pout, although I managed to stave them off for a bit longer when I put out my frozen, refrozen, refrozen, refrozen, left out of the fridge for a week and refrozen, STINKING black lug. Good lord! It was nasty. And sticky lug doesn't really cover it. At one stage, I managed to stick a fully loaded up baiting needle to my tripod with lug power alone!

I can feel a work trip to errrm, Leicester, coming on for next week....
