| Abbotsbury 16.10.10 Hi all, Had a free pass for the weekend so headed to Abbotsbury yesterday. Got there at about 3pm to find it was packed, so after what seemed like a 10 mile walk along the shingle I got to a space, Just passed where the fleet starts to the left. I had stocked up on black lug, king rag and baby squid and had a good feeling about the day. Fishing was slow before it got dark and I only saw 1 macky caught by someone down the beach. Things really came alive about 7pm though when the whiting and pout came on the feed, it was bites every cast, even getting two fish on a pennel rig on one occasion. Most of the fishing were whiting with the odd pout thrown in for good measure, all around legal size as well, even if they were a bit thin. Favorite bait of the night seemed to be lug/squid combo's, although they did go for big rag/lub baits as well. Packed up about 11pm after a very enjoyable evenings fishing and my first session for quite some time. Now for my 2nd free pass I'm off diving! | Re: Abbotsbury 16.10.10 Well done Ben. Chesil was one of our options for last night too... Sounds pretty much like our evening if you swap the words Whiting for Pouting. ![]() ![]() __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check. Reels. Check. Speckled Hen. Check. Bait…… BAIT!
