Sad End of an Era that went to the dogs last night

Fished branscombe last night with rich and suppriseingly 6 other members of club who were there ( pure chance was not arranged) we were going to go for the rough but ended up being social

well my first 4 casts ended up with 3 dogs and a snotty, and come the end i managed to make a total of 6 dogs and 2 snotties + 1 micro pout
Rich managed to avoid the dogs i believe and had pout and snotties
other fish caught by other members were plaice, poorcod, whiteing and scad

left later than neccessary for the amount of activity on the beach ( went quiet from 1 hour before HT)

came home with Oasis on the Cd player and Via the purveyor of indescriminate meat on a stick served over deep fried vegetables with a topping of garlicy mayo

but on a sadder note from last night

It is with deep regret that i must anounce the end of the Team Speckled Hens regular Wednesday evening reports

for at least the past 3 - 4 years Wednesday night has been sacred to the art of standing on a beach or bank and praying to the piscine gods

with some varied success some good
Double figure Bass + 6 points in a day
Popping your cherry bigtime in the mud
some bad,where we have stuck it out in some horrid conditions
dumb and dumber come up trumps

made the kebab shop more regulary than aught to really,

and even bottled it to the pub on occasion, or even fished from a pub

and met some oddities on the beaches sometimes
Its not always about the fishing is it

but due to Mrs Ps' and Daughter Ps' new combined hobby of Archery i cannot make the wednesdays ( although I will be allowed to do first wednesday matches as its me running them next year)

So a massive thanks to the Baggie one for the last few years its been a blast and will be strange going to work thurs morning bright eyed

and looks like its weekends only for for a while

although it wont mean the end of team speckled hen thats for sure and may even mean 2 reports 1 from me and 1 from rich on different days

Was flipping cold last night. The fish didn't wanna play much. The beer was good and the Kebab was better.

A standard mid week fishing report really. There have been more than a few. From humble beginings to trips to the dark side and even actually catching some decent fish!. Fishing from the pub. That was a good 'un... Why haven't we done more of that???

Now, over 4 years later, Wednesday nights are gonna be strange. Ah well. Weekends only from here on in mate.

Unless you sort them Thursdays out....

i guess i may get longer passes on weekend to make up, and for me tuesdays are free, its just rich and myself cant get same night at all weekdays now
