Fished there last night with steve sandm , steve1976 and mark (anneli) , lovely night to be out and pout and whiting from the off , mark had to leave early as he has to be in before the street lights come on so it left the 3 of us , just 2 local loons visiting last night , the first telling us "its a waste of time fishing here mate its been dregged" after a hours discussion about how its been dregged everyday for the last 2 weeks for the arrival of the new Qe2 , he said its not true i know the bloke whos dregging it i gave up ::) the second loon then came along telling us how his girlfriends dad caught a 11 1/2 lb bass there last night amongst other monster fish i took a couple of valium and sat back anyway onto the truth , it was awful fishing , very few fish after midnight and virtually no hits from the bass just me and steve missing one each steve however managed his first doggy .................



he will soon get fed up with those , a very poor nights fishing , with the tides the way they are i think ill leave anymore fishing untill next week

hi all, i went down wednesday night, set up about 20:30 hours with my fishing partner in crime dave (brother), straight into the pin whiting and pout and a doggy, first pout live bait over produced a 2lb bass, then very quiet till early hours where i had the first big take on the bass rod,felt the weight and thought yes good fish not the usual 2lb and then under it went and i didnt have any choice but to let the drag off a tad then the inevertable snap of the line due to the edge rubbing :/ this also happened about an hour later with an even bigger bass on the end , gutted to say the least, any ideas welcome as to how i might prevent it , i tried a 13 ft rod so i can try to hold it out that much further as to not catch the bottom of the peir but didnt get any takes lol.

I use an uptider as i reckon those dumpy boat rods are just asking for trouble .I also aint convinced with the lead above the pout .. i'm pretty sure half of these 'hits and misses' are the fish being spooked and pulling the rig and lead .. no doubt the 'local loon' will completely disagree with me
