Hayling island (eastoke) 09/10/10

Fished between groynes 20 - 21 with bassmanrob last night , arrived and was fishing by 8.30 pm , big lug baits and whole squid from the off over low water .........



Straight into the dogs



then rob had a nice hit on whole squid and upon getting the fish to the shore , we thought oh yes nice little coddie , until further inspection revealed it was a pout on steroids ..........



things were very busy with lots and lots of dogs a small bass for rob , then he had another good hit and brought in a double shot of dog and another monster pout .............



then my turn with a big black lug bait out there , pulldown and slack line ooooh could it be a nodder ............ no such luck another hoofing great pout .................





where have these things come from cracking night out there with no weed and little wind , plenty of action untill high water when it went dead ...............and stayed that way , lost count of the amount of fish we had between us , last chuck and lackied 15 black lug to the pennel and lobbed it out , resulted in the last fish , a small whiting oh well no coddies but a fantastic night to be out there

sounds the same as the session i had there other day loads of dogs , small smoothies and big pout , shame the cod did not show up again . well done on your session

Shame no cod showed up but it was nice to have a session with plenty of bites and no weed for a change.

I weighed my biggest mutant pout..... 1lb 9oz.
