Oberon first trip

As some of you know I've been crew on my mates boat Indie for the last eighteen months, well he sold her and brought another boat more suited to charter
fishing. So welcome to Oberon.

She's an Interceptor 38,with a lot more room for anglers, below is the next best thing to fishing,

On to the fishing, yesterday saw our first trip on Oberon crew made of old mates and Trevs daughter Katie a keen angler ready for her first wreck trip
complete with pink tackle box, kettle on and cast off at 0600,

coudn't belive how flat it was after Fridays blow although the swell did increase outside the IOW, with an hours steam to go it was bacon sarnies all
round, tackle consisded of light rods with nothing above 12lb class, portland and flying collar rigs with a couple of us opting for pirks.
First drift produced Bass and Pollock sorry no photos as I need a fish in before I settle down.

Katies first pollock,

Every drift produced fish, if you only came up 10 to 15 turns chances were it was bass or ling over that it was pollock.

Aarons cod, the only one of the day, god knows what he was saying to it.

The rain came down and didn't stop for a few hours, everyone fished on although Rich put his designer rain top on,

just to prove I sometimes catch

Classic days fishing, 29 bass, 3 ling, 1 cod and loads of pollock.
Top angler Katie, biggest pollock and biggest ling adding to her 40lb plus conger, tope of 35lb and countless smaller fish. She's already talking of taking
her Dads boat out, female skipper? nah! I proberly couldn't out fish her.
