just thought i would let you in on a session i had recently at clarence beach, southsea. last sunday evening fished the above venue- caught 2 sole to 1.5 lbs, bass to 3lbs, 1 dab 10 oz about a dozen pencile whiting and an eel about 3lbs. first time been beach fishing in a year. fish the beach 2 hours down and 3 up- note it is a low water venue and dont cast too far 60 yards max. can be a bit snaggy in places but anywhere from clarence pier to about 200 yards to the east of rowing club will through up sole (watch out for the hovercraft which stops running about 10pm. there is no weed on the beach at all, you will also catch wrasse, bream and plaice during daylight. every year this venue will through up a dozen sole over 2 lbs or bigger. tight lines.
