Wierd Night Down Sandown

had a little session down then yaverland a few days ago only produced one undulate ray on a squid and macky cocktailand a few pout on the rag....

.....

.....
on the way back we saw a smooth-hound led on the beach still alive!..

it was wasaly a 10lber but as i picked it up to try and help it survive i noticed it had a hole in the top of its skull..


any ideas on what happend ? netting maybe?....

Caught in a net and attacked by a cuttle or something? Dunno if a net on it's own would put a hole in a fish like that? Mind you, if it was a net, wouldn't there likely be other marks on the fish as well?

tis a job to tell what the damage was , it looks possibly infected, like an ulcer
if the fish was a trout i'd say its U, D, N.
but i think that affects only salmoniods .
might be something simmalar though, an infected small wound.
