east beach selsey

as we all know the wind been a nightmare for last few days . was planning on going sole fishing , but the wind knocked that on the head . so opted for east beach at selsey went up the far end towards church norton . got there about 8pm . high tide was at 12.30 . wind was of my back so was comfortable . sea had a little colour and was fairly calm . unlike west beach that was running a heavy swell .

game plan was to fish at long range with lug , squid and crab baits . then when the weed turned up . would drop in short with 3 hook flapper with lug and a puuley rig with mackerel .

1st cast produced a double hit of a small bream and bass . 2nd cast was the same . then nothing . not even the baits were being stripped ............... then the weed turned . so stuck to my game plan and dropped in short . at high water the pulley rig went made . and a few minutes later a nice 3lb8oz bass on the bank . with in a few minutes of cast ing back out . it roared off again . another nice bass of 4lb6oz . thought here we go . how wrong . never had anothr touch till i packed up at 3am . strange never had any sign of fish apart from those 2 little spells . not even a pout !!!!!!!

Top bit of bassing, I only managed 4 schoolies and a bath shark last night.

That brace of yours blows the theory (and my excuse for last night) of the bright full moon putting bass off out of the water. The moon last night was like a lighthouse in the sky!
