Chesil Thursday 14:00 - Friday 08:00 Team Dilligaf and choppers dad Ken went to Chesil in the hope of catching something, It was a slow slow day with nothing catching other than a few mackies for bait. Night came and chopper was first into the fish with a nice undulate ray ![]() Chopper was next into the smuts...Or smut, It looked and felt a much bigger fish than the 4-5lb that it was Then I had a nice black bream bream ![]() Followed by a smut... Which I thought was a ray as there was no bite, Just a long slow pull down and when realing it in it stuck to the floor with no fight at all... Just a dead weight.... Turns out that a snood on my rig had caught round its fin as well as being hooked in its mouth.. I was dragging it along the floor I think ! ![]() We got home at 10 this morning after leaving at 11 yesterday morning... a long time out ! I managed to snag twice in a row which resulted in me throwing my toys out of the pram and packing up an hour or so before chopper and ken did... I went and made the tea ! After lumping the gear up and over chesil bank I was knackered ! .. 6 times up and over that bank is a killer..... Chopper had to row for 25 mins to get us back to the car, I think we were all feeling the strain by the time we got home ! ![]() ![]() The bream was lovely to eat, Usualy I bake them in tin foil with herbs but find it a little strong. Chopper said to fry and I will be doing this again as it tasted better than bass in my opinion ! A good day/night out with many laughs to be had, Cheers chopper, Nice one mate :) Last edited by Leigh Cocker; 08-06-2010 at 09:02 PM. Reason: Got me dates mixed up !!!

Re: Chesil Saturday 14:00 - Sunday 08:00 Nice report and pics, well done. Is that a specimen sized boot, or just a small bream?..ha ha. Sounds bit tiring lugging all that gear up the beach. Seriously though, well done - nice to get a bream from the shore - and they are tasty aint they..

Re: Chesil Saturday 14:00 - Sunday 08:00 That its is , its like fishing with Bigfoot. Strange though as its only his right foot , which makes it easier for him to climb the shingle at Chesil. All in all it was another good night, slow to start but worth it in the end. The pic of the bream dose not do it justice, it was a fat bugger. __________________ You should forgive your enemies, but only after you’ve taken the shot.
