endangered species my a#@e , charmouth 24/7

last night headed off to charmouth in the hope of a repeat of wednesday nights success, how different can a place look after 3 days
the surf was almost non existant, the water like chocolate but luckily most of the weed was on the beach rather than in the surf
so anyway we were there and fish we would

similar rigs to wed 1 x 2hook flapper with lug in close and 1 x 2/0 pennel and sandeel banged out

well it was quiet very quiet then rich caught our old friend ( slimey old eel yuk)

then his next pull when both getting a tad dejected was 1 of the target species
arround 2 1//2- 3lb but first of the year for rich



so maybe things would get better

well they did for rich
as he managed 2 bass, 1 a keeper
also pout and anouther 2 eels

me well i had 1 pout and 4 eels( best 1lb4, if there is such a thing as a best grrr)

so much for eels being an endangered species

but at least bites after dark kept us busy

Well done on the catches dave. I should get out on the shores but i need to work to quieten down.

Bet rich is happy now he is into his bass again.

Thanks gents, it was one hell of a relief to get the ray as it was my first this year and having watched Dave haul a couple of beauts in recently, it was my turn god damn it! Not massive I'll grant you, but a pretty little thing and it made me happy!

What did not make me happy, was one of the 'orrible eels turning on me when being unhooked and biting me on the back of the hand! It wasn't painful a such, but there was a comedy moment of me reacting in shock and waving my hand around like a girl and the eel really not wanting to let go. Result: Flying hand, rig, hook and eel getting into a hell of a mess. Of course Dave was about as helpful as he could be.. "Oh yeah" he said as he wondered off back to his rods!
