Double figure Bass + 6 points in a day

bet this gets alot of looks with that title

this is a bit of a double report

in the afternoon i had to pop for some bait after finishing work at 2 and as a neap tide at 3 took advantage of popping down the docks with the spinning rod, 1oz ball weights and a size 1 hook with ragworm to scratch out a few points

it was good to see the fisheries vessel checking out activity and water quality


first fish was a good ballan about 1 1/2-2lb ( had one of them but fun anyway)
then moved to the ladder on the high water as know better there
and result
with rock goby, blenny and short spined bullheads for 4.5 points, result






the people with big gear or feathers/ spinng were all blanking

back home at 4 and geared up for the evening assault on charmouth

got there at 8 the surf was looking sexy and the beach totally scoured from last weeks blow,
god i hoped this was going to be good as richs lighter had packed up and hes a nightmare without a fag


we both fished 1 rod in the surf with 2 hook flappers and lug (as had been given 4 dozen dying worms for free from shop),along with 2 doz fresh for the schollies

which obviously bassman baggie was into quickly, even getting a double shot



my rod was haveing none of it, nor the very ambitious ray rod ( sandeel at range), think rich's second rod was in close for mummy bass
just as getting dark rich manages a keeper at 2 1/2lb



at last i get a bite, and its the first of my 3 pout on the sandeel

then joy of joys a snotty eel on my lug, what do i have to do to get a schoolie,
mm i know i'll try the fresh lug, and bingo first cast i get my first of 2 schoolies

baggie then whacks out a crab and result, it may only be small, but his first ever huss and points as well




packed up and left at midnight, a good sesion in the end 3 pout, 1 horrid eel( rich skillfully lost one as well) the huss and 10 bass ( double figure) between us
and met some others in carpark who had only had 1 pout for a much longer walk( but did have a light for rich )

think we may just go back soon

Great report, looks like Baggie was OK with out the smokes.
