| Sole bash. IOW. 13 / 7 10. Report n pics. Robbie, his dad bob and myself went out for a go at these sole that are turning up out our way. With a 4.8 tide on the cards the venue had to be changed slightly to even have a chance at fishing amongst the HUGE amounts of weed that are coming through but we persevered and it threw up a few good fish. With a little breeze and a nice dark night, it just HAD too.  Around an hour and a half before H/W i had a textbook sole bite but i didnt think it looked any bigger than a slip tugging on my worm.. I sat on my hands for a couple of minutes then reeled it in. There was a good bit of weight there but i thought it was a ball of weed with a slip knocking away as well, so i was more than surprised to see a good fish of 1lb13oz come up the beach. :)  A short while after, i had a few small pull downs that i was convinced was a small one, i was right and another sole of 1lb2oz came in. :) Pretty much on slack water, i had a better spirited bits, sole for sure and fish on! When i first looked at it i thought is was easily a 2 pounder...... It had the size in length but was quite thin and went the same as my other biggest 1lb13oz The 1lb2oz and the 1lb13oz together  I did get another slip just after the main run off and i didnt even know it was on there till i reeled in! Robbie threw it in before i could get a pic, no big loss i guess ;D Unfortunately the other lads didnt fair so well. Bob had a large rockling and robbie had a few bits including a very small sole and a rockling himself! ;D ;D     |
