Warsash Last Night

Had a session in the rain last night down Warsash, fishing upto hw at around 12.30ish.
I had hopes of catching some decent smoothounds on my first night session of the year, but didnt have a single bite all night! Weed seems to have turned up here now as well, which isnt usually a problem.

I was over at victoria country park wth the little un yesterday and the water was minging mate...weed,foam and manky flies over everything !
tried town quay for 45 minutes but even there was weeded more than i've ever seen
Was pretty blowy too and i wasnt about to hang around !

Will certainly be glad to see the back of the week. Made up for it by taking left over bait down one of the pontoons in the river earlier and had great fun catching 30+ wrasse and bream on real light gear. The bream sure do give a good acount for them self on light gear!

whereabouts mate ? i was looking for summit similar to take the little un !
don't know many of the inner marks and drove around the tide mill looking for spots to no avail

Down on the waterfront in the center of Warsash there is a car park, next to the rising sun pub, and the harbour masters building (round black and white strippy one). The pontoon is attached to the harbour masters and they are happy to let you fish as long as you stay out of the way of the boats and dont leave a mes. Nice light gear, size 6 hooks, and tiny bits of rag worm fished right close to the pontoon supports.

cheers for that Ben, will go look it up on the map and try get down one afternoon any Bass or Mullet patrolling ?

Fished Warsash couple weeks back with me m8 had few good smutts to about 12lb, must admit weed did set in and cause problems
