Tues 8th at Bexington

I was a tad later than expected, having a 'business' meeting in the village itself that went on. I got to the car park, and met Steve, Scottish and Mental, I'd had a txt earlier from Ali W, who was 200yds west ina red beach buddy. So after some escape and evasion tactic employed against carpark charges, we settle onto the beach, which was nice and quiete, esp from my point of view, as I often only get down there at weekends.

Scottish and Mental, sent out some feathers for fresh bait, and had loads on his first cast, I think the second or third was a full house. I set up a 3 hook rig with sandeels and squid. Temped to catch something I played about with my feater,and had nothing. So I set up my second rod, also with sand eels, and a mixture of party squid and some salted lug I had picked up on e-bay.
I fed the crabs.
I carried on thrashing the water to foam trying to get some mackies. Steve took pity on me, and very kindly loaned me his feathers, I think one of the probs was in experiece in casting, as I was not getting the range. Practice will improve things. In the end, I did manage a mackie, whcih gets me a point and a half. So many thanks to Steve. Most importantly I was able to watch and learn, very useful for a beginnner to sea fishing.

I used said mackie on one of my hooks, as a fillet and a strip on another, and I'm sure the chesil crabs were grateful.
I left some hurs later than planned, but so what. No more fish. Steve was suffering from doggies, now I have only caugfht one dogfish, that was on a boat session out of Hayling. Am I blessed or just plain lucky, no doubt they will plague me when I learn how to sea fish properly.

Was great to meet up with you Matt and many thanks for the gaffer tape for my wellie which we managed to rip trying to get it off my foot ! ( not sure how you rip a welly boot but we managed ) ..I had probably another 5 or 6 dogs plus pout , a spider crab and my first ever hermit crab ! - big un too ..
Left at 5am and headed up to pulpit rock to winkle out a wrasse but the swell was mahoosive and it wasn't for the faint hearted - i left when i kept getting urges to jump in ..
Typical chesil in the summer bags of crap left all over the beach ( which WE tidied )by idiots using our beaches as dumping grounds but an enjoyable session even if it threw up exactly the same as it does every time i fish it

Hi All Just got back from weymouth was good to meet up with Steve and Matt on the beach. Glad to see that some fish came out to play for them. I packed up at about 8ish with not a bite insight still managed to get back and take the good woman out for a late drink .

Steve if you are still thinking of going out on friday night give me a shout.
