| St Catherines Point I was invited out with Dean in his boat a Sea Ray 225, now this is a flying machine powered by a three litre petrol Mercruser ![]() ![]() Our plan was to fish south of St Catherines Point, Deans target was bass, mine as many spiecies as possible for team Millpond. We left Pompey at 0630 on a glass like sea, ![]() about 40 minutes later we dropped anchor off St Caths, it doesn't take long at 32 knots, squid the chosen bait and fresh macci when we caught them, abiteless two hours followed, then I found the macci. ![]() Dean hit into a small bass, around 5lb he doesn't like his photo being taken and no amount of asking helped. The fishing wasn't hectic to say the least another hour passed and I got a small rattle, ![]() a much needed doggie. We moved, again time passed with no bites, we moved again, Dean was into a fish as soon as the squid hit the bottom this turned out to be a smoothie, again no pic, my rod nodded and fish on, ![]() I was getting little tugs on the rod tip not bites just slight movement, got to be weed we agreed, reeled to have this bonus. ![]() We called it a day and set off home, met Indie a the forts trying for macci ![]() ![]() Thanks to Dean for a great day afloat, well pleased with three out of the six I wanted, bass tope and pout next. __________________ Poor prep= Pathetic Performance |
