thursday 3rd june

with the kids still off school thursday was a 'lets go to the beach day'
for both mine and hartleys family. so the mpv's were loaded & off we set for lyme regis
after the usuall play in the sand/ explore the town (includeing a short visit to the local tackle shop, btw, i was quite impressed with it,)/grab a bite to eat & a pint , etc,etc.
myself and hartley decided it was time to fish, due to the fact that some of our kids wished to join us for a while we decided upon the cannon wall as a venue ( hopeing to move on elsewhere when the younger ones got bored & left for the comfort of the cars & maybee a dvd to watch)
the yongsters were left minding their ' lidl's specials' while hartley and i tryed to catch something in daylight & and failed.
as darkness fell the youngsters elected one by one to go back to their mums but by that time neither me or 'H' could be bothered to change marks.
'H' was first in with a doggie and that set the pace for the evening with hartley catching doggies and myself settleing for pouting ( i didn't catch a dog for quite some time but it was only inevitable really,)
just for a change my m8 accounted for a bootlace eel before we left at about 0145.
the weather was hot and sunny with not a cloud in the sky, the sea flat calm & next to no wind,
baits included ragworm , squid, & sandeel.

a good family day out but mediocre fishing, as is often the case.

Got to make use of the sunshine whilst summers here .
Keeping fishing & family values in perspective can only earn brownie points.
