| Chale Friday 21st With no transport for a week, thus unable to fish for a fortnight friday couldn't come quick enough for me.But finally it arrived. Picking Nick up at 7pm we headed off to Chale in search of those elusive Rays. Thanks to some idiots the ropes had been cut leading down the cliff, but I had received warning from another mate and brought one with me. Here's nick coming down, doesn't look steep in the photo but believe me it is. ![]() We were set up by 7.30pm, conditions were gorgeous with blue skies, warm sunshine and no wind, maybe not great for Ray fishing but a pleasure to be on the beach. Half hour and we were joined by Lighty and Dinger, looking a tad puffed after the climb down the cliff's and trek along the Shingle. ![]() I decided to try for a bass or another Turbot during daylight so half a bluey went out on a pennel rig on both rods, opting to wait for darkness before trying for the rays. Well the sun started to dip lower in the sky and we were treated to a gorgeous sunset over this impressive landscape. ![]() ![]() With the last of the light fading fast the Pout and Doggies came on the feed, hitting almost everything out there. Low tide arrived, usually a good time for the rays, but nothing apart from the pout was feeding. We fished on till nearly 5pm but to no avail, even the pout had lost interest and with it getting light fast we took the long trek along the shingle and steep climb back up to the carpark. Despite the lack of any quality fish, it still was a great night, great company, everyone caught fish and the weather was fantastic, roll on the next trip. Driving home I was treated again to another gorgeous sunrise. ![]() ![]() |

| Re: Chale Friday 21st Green with envy does not even come close. Great deal of effort went in to that report, thanks for some stunnig piccys of the West Wight and PLEASE keep posting them. If I've won the lotto this weekend I'll be moving to the island quicker than I can book a ferry. __________________ Just remember, not all the heroes died. www.helpforheroes.org.uk |
