 branscombe 15/5/10 family/work/birthdays etc seem to have meant that team speckled have had to be seperated yet again( dont think will make a joint attack till fri or sat now either  ) thats nearly 2 weeks now  but i had some bait and a pass so a bit later than wanted i headed to branscombe, got there and set up just before 8 and decided to try both rods on popups for a mackeral for the hunt and bait in the daylight, 1 out further 1 in close just on high at 8'20 left hand rod ( out far) fish on and its a gar and a good one at a 1lb dont usually get the gar arround here till end july /august either way he was called bait and a bit of his rump was sent out on the pop up again then within 5 minutes the right hand ( close ) rod went and whoop whoop mackeral  cool thats 3 points taff who was there( love being in the club you always seem to bump into someone to fish with on the beach  ) then had a dirty dog on a pop upit was all far too quiet after that, taff did manage another dog i failed to connect to a slackliner on crab    and 2 massive doggy type shakes never hooked up either was definately a cold old wind along the beach but a pleasent session all the same, feeling slightly revived by the appearnce at last of some summer species roll on friday/saturday , team speckled are proper fish hunting again( somewhere  ) dave __________________ www.exmouthsaa.co.uk 24 beers in a case and 24 hours in a day simples You won't know unless you go :D...and if you do go!! please let us know :D as thats how the forum thrives     |

| Re: branscombe 15/5/10 Well done mate. You seem to be doing this species hunt lark on yer own this year! Leave some for the rest of us!  Well done mate.I think it's gonna be Saturday at the earliest as things stand at the moment, althought there's a chance it might not even be that. Varing commitments mean I'm booked up every night this week and if I turn round and say I'm off fishing on the Saturday as well.... It might have to be a "pack the car before I tell her and leave the engine running" job! __________________ Right then, checklist: Rods. Check. Reels. Check. Speckled Hen. Check. Bait…… BAIT! I'm off all week and want to make the most of it so I have a trip to Hinkley planned for tomorrow and wouldnt mind a trip to devon later in the week, are there any venues that you could recommend to fish on neaps? |
