Plymouth - 17.04.10 16:00-00:00

Went to a mark in Plymouth yesterday that we were told should produce rays. ...As You will see the drive from Exeter was an interesting one for me...

I couldn't see where we were going... Only where we had been.

Upon arrival I sensed something familiar.. We've been here before and it was sh*te.... The last time it was called Barnpool..... But this time it was called Mount Edgecumbe....
One place, Two names... I had lost all hope by the time I had even finished setting up.

We had the whole beach to ourselves.

Still no fish... not all that suprising really.. Grrrrrr

And to top it all off., This idiot.. (insert your own harsh/swear word here).. Decides to anchor up right in front of my line, The little tw@ did it on purpose. He went round and round in circles a few times and then got his missus to drop anchor.. He had the whole of the area to do so and he did it RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY LINES... What a tw@.

Neither of us were going to move and we did not cast around him... If he got 5 ounces of lead smacking into his boat it was his own fault.... What a tosser.

One of the submarines based at plymouth decided it wanted to dock. Its flipping huge but the picture do not do it justice.

Apart from this one poor cod and a dogfish thats all Team Dilligaf caught... A dissapointing days fishing but it was good to be out.

Gawd, I miss that place - I used to fish there in the 70's when I lived there (Plymouth, not Barn Pool). Used to get some huge Wrasse along with rays and conger. I last fished it in about 1983 I think. Happy days!

Unlucky Leigh. Are the ray late this year? Ir have we got used to the ray being early due to severeal mild winters? Who knows? As long as the come in sometime......

I fished it from a boat a good few years ago, nothing but Pout in the half to one pound range, lip hooked a one pound pout and dropped it down, wallop! Ten minutes later a 5 1/2lb bass came up, happy days.
