| Seaview "26th March Picked up a pound of worm some crab sandeel and Squid and was set up at the Toll rd just gone 6pm. Then it started to rain, heavy showers and frequent. One rod would have a 2hook flapper with Ragworm as bait, the other would be a clip down 3/0 with either sandeel, crab or squid. ![]() ![]() Well I wasn't expecting much till it got dark, but just on Dusk I had a rattle and then a gentle pull struck and the first fish of the night was in, a Flounder of 14ozs. ![]() Not big but it was a start, it was quiet for an hour, the rain had now eased and then a better bite and my target species arrived a schoolie of a pound. I had a few more rattles but couldn't connect so decided to fish the other side of the pipes. which was a move of about 20yards.Cast out and sat back t pour a coffee and straight away a good bite, striking I could feel this was a better fish, after giving a good account of itself I finally slipped the fish onto the single, weighed it went 4lb exactly. ![]() Well after that the fish really came on the feed with bite after bite, although mostly from small stuff that despite my best efforts I was unable to connect to. Around 10pm I had another better bite and in came another bass this time weighing 2lb 10oz. ![]() By 11pm th tide was was starting to ebb fast, the bites had stopped and I had a headache, I had planned to fish another venue on the ebb but decided to save the worm till the following night and try again. Still a good night with 7 Bass upto 4lb and a Flounder, all returned to fight another day. And I'm off back there this evening. |

| Re: Seaview "26th March That is some beach davey, wouldnt mind a session or 2 there. Well done that is a cracking session. That one session would win you 90% of the opens i fish over here mate infact anywhere in ireland or not far of it. Reminds me of a beach i used to fish many years ago greystones down south(dont live there no more), i had 4 coley, each one nearly 3lb each and me and a mate had 13 codling each one average 3-4lb in a 3 hour session. You are a very lucky man to have a beach like that. And at this time of year, god knows what its like in a few weeks time and winter time i would say is mental. Keep her lit mate ![]() |
