| Right Plaice, Right Time Not to be defeated in my search for an early Plaice, the dog and I were in place on West Bexington beach at dawn this morning and there were already quite a few people fishing (one fishing right over the cable snag so he must not know the beach). We headed right, up towards the telegraph pole mark (a huge wooden pylon/telegraph pole that got washed high up the beach in a storm) and set up just before the sun rose - no breakfast at mcdonalds this morning I gave the dog stern warnings about rolling in rotten fish and sent out a couple of long casts. As I put the kettle on for breakfast coffee I got a rattle After Saturday's blank at Cogden I couldn't possibly be into a fish on my first cast, could I?.... I was  1½ pounds of plump plaice were soon gracing the beach in the early morning sunshine... Isn't life wonderful when you're sat in the warm sunshine with a hot cup of strong coffee and a nice Plaice in your bucket? OK so I had no more knocks in the next hour or so before we headed home for breakfast, but there's always tomorrow - and plenty more fish in the sea      |
