Bridport / West Bay Fishing

We are going down to West Bay in April & was wondering what we are liking to be looking at catching?

Also wondering what baits will be working the best at this time of year.

Many thanks

Re: Bridport / West Bay Fishing

April might be a touch early for the hounds, but there should be some Bass, rays, plaice, doggies and the usual smaller stuff about. Crab, Sandeel, bluey, rag and lug should all produce on their day.

Let us know how you get on.

Re: Bridport / West Bay Fishing

Hi Vicky,

The harbour and entrance have recently been dredged which has affected the fishing just now. Whither things will be back to normal by April remains to be seen.

Regards

Drew

Re: Bridport / West Bay Fishing

Hi Vicky,

I have just phoned a few members of the local club, fishing is pretty poor in and around West Bay at the moment due to the dredging. Apparantly the Chesil marks are just as bad. They tell me that it is all down to the temperature of the sea, it being a degree or two lower than it normally is at this time of year.

Regards

Drew
