charmouth 5/3/10. good job size dont matter

well as i posted earlier i was stupidly off for either and early plaice or ray, and my best bet was charmouth

got away from work fast and armed with £5 of huge ragworm and 2 pkts sandeel away i went

at charmouth by 2.30 with an hour before low, the beach seemed rockier than before, guess the storms have scoured it out abit

to the east


the centre


and out to the west and lyme in distance




there were plenty of fossilers about and also dog walkers, i decided to not walk too far to the right and set up
both rods originally with 2 hook flappers with bling and worm baits

It was glorious on the beach , sometimes i had it all to myself



on one of the bait changes this leviaton came in



my first plaice in 2 years and 1 target achieved

next retrieve was a good old 5 beard

a while later forum member just mark came down
takeing pics and generally chatting

I moved towards the beach centre as was starting to snag up a bit as tide had changed

we were both treated to a fabulous sunset( will let mark add his pics here as know he took some crackers )

I stayed till 7.30 when it got really cold and the idea for a pint was getting stronger, than my urge for a ray( did i really just say that) as really think that was overly hopefull

But had a lovely afternoon, 1 target achieved and back to one of my fave beaches things are getting better

so now with the wee report done its beertime

Well done, might be down that way towards the end of the onth, then, oh no, no time of for 2 and a bit monthes, unless I'm very good/lucky.

It was a fantastic day on the coast. I had been out at the crack of sparrows to do a job in Portland and on the way back I remembered seeing Dave's post last night about Charmouth.

I decided to stop there on the way home to see if he'd had any luck. I missed his massive plaice, but the sunset more than made up for that

More shots for the Portfolio and even got a few of some strange fella throwing lead around the beach. Well done on another point and a half Dave.

Thanks Cuckoo. I've been a keen hobby photographerfor years, but recently have started doing some agency freelancing and expedition photography.

It's definately the way I would love my career to develop though. Now if I could combine my three great passions, Fishing, Photography and Flying I'd be a pig in sh*t for the rest of time
