| Langley Point Monday Night 17 Fish But Help Needed! Hi all, Fished off the roundabout swim last night using my lucky rig's twin brother. Using fresh black lug bought from Anglers Den. Started off at one in the morning the sea was calm like a bath tub and no wind. Casting about 100 yards out. Fished till 5 am. Had a fish every cast all whiting. Most were deeply hooked and i was having to unhook through the gill plate. Only six of the sixteen fish i caught were hooked in a place that was easy to unhook. Is this a problem with whiting (a bit like freshwater perch gulping baits down). Any suggestions to stop this happening? |

| Re: Langley Point Monday Night 17 Fish But Help Needed! I would say it happened as your rod was left for long enough on your rod stand for them to swallow hook. When fishing gets like that and rod tip is knock knock knock steady, hold your rod as soon as you see tap tap tap keep your line tight and after a few seconds reel in. Same with dogs leave it long enough and they will swallow hook 90% of the time. Another thing you could look at is what size hooks are on your trace, step up a size, if your being plagued by wee fish. Paul. |
