today

me, brett and rob fished hayling island today over low water from 8 till 3ish, rob is still there now but i had work

started off with lots of bites, favoured baits being ragworm and freshly collected slipper limpits
rigs being pennels, 2/3 hook flappers, pully rigs and boom rigs
after a while of missed bites the first and only fish of the day came to the shore
a lovely looking weaver fish (we think) cause by me on a 2 hook boom rig with ragworm and slipper limpit

whatever it was i wasnt gonna touch it so out came the knife and away went the fish, hook and all
bites started to dry up the higher the tide got, we decided to move along the beach slighty further to fish into a deep very fast flowing channel (5oz grip leaders were having problems)
no joy there so me n brett packed up and went home
rob as far as i know is still there now
a fun day although more fish would have been nice

Re: today

Hi guys,

This is what I call, and others like it, a rock blenny. I think people use different names for the same type of fish. It is not a common weaver fish because it lacks the spines on the tips of the gill covers and the tell tail spine on the dorsel fin.

Kiwi.
