Re: trip to dungy

Cod around but maybe think twice about dungie on SAT. the way the wind and weather is at mo you'll be hard pushed down there.Unless it totally drops.. I'd think of a little more shelter.keep your eye on the met office. I tend to look at shipping forecast for more acuracy on the wind and weather.. fishing was constant for whiting..an a few dogs but after the blow today and tomorrow might be bit weedy. Denge fishing same as dungie at mo.

Re: trip to dungy UPDATE

well managed to get trip underway eventually, (delay in bait delivery), went sunday instead, (daylight fishing is not my thing ) this is the one day light fishing trip i do a year as all other trips throughout the year are night sessions. went armed my my trusty LT bullet and M4. couple of 6500 ct premium reels and loads of lug worm. weather was quite calm and sunny but was still freezing . not the best weather for cod fishing. we were heading towards dungy but got a text from a friend who had been there and said it was the usual wall to wall anglers. so we decided to go to the parade at hythe.

got there approx 10.30 am with high tide approx 2.00pm, quite busy as there was a match being fished. whiting were on the prowl and also some nice dabs, and pout but unfortunately no cod were caught , ended up with 8 dabs 4 nice pout and approx 70 whiting, with a few nice ones in amongst them. all in all a pleasant day just a shame no cod surfaced.

back to seaford and eastbourne from now on as i know there are good size cod being caught at the moment, i had a 9lb 6oz one of seaford last sat night and trevor rooney was fishing the nomads open in eastbourne on sunday and caught a 12lb cod , not bad at all in daylight for this area.

just leaves me to say to all forum members, have a great christmas and a happy and prosperous new.

tight lines everyone.
